Callfilter for SE W960

Here i wanna add some info for you guys on calls management software.

Im using Call Filter v1.2 by anfymobile.u can download this software from www.anfymobile.com For free.

Its has a simple interface and so easy to use. There's a lot of review on this software so i wont waste my time repeating what they say. Just google for a review.

w960 calls management

Here's some screen shot that i take from my W960 featuring options that are available for blocking unwanted calls and creating whitelist contact for calling. It come pre-installed with the phone software. Most of smartphone today dont come with a default software like this.

Creating one is easy, u can access this function right from the main screen of the phone.

Pressing MORE on the right bottom screen will pop up a menu list. Look for ACCEPT CALLS. This will show 5 option on how you want to setup the list.

1. All callers - let all callers to reach you either from your phone contact or not.
2. Listed Callers Only - let you choose from who you want to accept calls from.
3. Contacts - only from contacts.
4. Speed Dial - people from your speed dial setting.
5. None - accept no calls at all.

W960 as a modem after reset error

Im still looking for other errors that stupid reset does. So after success on the walkman player and the pc suite.

I remembered  I use to connect to the net with my w960 as a modem. It supported 3G network in my area but hey… I don like it. That why I go buy a Nokia E63 which I had sell recently.

W960 suck as a modem. Donno why. The best phone I use  as a modem is xperia x1i.  So lets get back to  where I wonder if If i can connect to the net with my w960i as a modem or not.

Surfing directly from the phone seem ok. Wi-fi and broadband seem ok.

So the ultimate test…

At the 1st attemp. The phone restart itself. Suck rite?

And the second one also a failure. The phone and my pc shows connected. But there is something strange about the connection. Somehow it doesn’t connect to the net. It shows connected to the 3G line but it doesn connect to the net. I repeat, it shows connected but i can surf the net. Due to setting I think. Or drivers issues.

so back to research time...

USB mode error solve

look closely to the picture above... what do u see??? my w960i connected in usb mode. its a miracle rite??. after the long week trying to solve the problem... finally id made it, sure come as a satisfactory.

the noobest i can be...

i cant say what is the main problem is. but i notice that, my phone don't recognize the new Sony Ericson PC Suite v5.0. look closely to the picture then you'll understand. the usb mode that currently running doesn't run on the new PC suite. this is Sony Ericson PC Suite version 1.5.26. this is  sure a big bug in the pc suite. The v5.0 is the latest pc suite that i downloaded from SE main web site. it recommended to me by the web system.

sure i can rest a little bit. but UIQ MODDING IS still running. i'll keep on running this blog for UIQ newbies that want to try the UIQ system.

error after resetting factory mode

So here I am writing and complaining After my reset,
I want your UIQ lovers know the risk that u take when doin the "replace file in c/resource" if u don understand how the system work, u should read this.

Afer my reset, I lost most of the main file that came in factory setting. This is the changers that I had notice.

1) The walkman player shortcut is placed in the tool folder. There's no way to move the shortcut out of the folder like u can always do to any installed application that placed in the tool folder.
2) The walkman hardware shortcut doesn work when pressed. I mean to say that all shortcut don’t work. It always displayed "not enough memory". So no walkman player anymore.
3) PC SUITE doesn’t recognise the phone when attempting to connect. I tried several time@method, in Usb or bluetooth mode. Thank god it still support mass memory mode.
4) The phone became very…very-very… slow….
5) The zeegy mod on contact and sms icon still exist. The reset don’t reset the folder. Good.
6) U lost most of your original file and Pre-installed software.
7) The camera, video gallery, picture gallery and phone is still ok.

Im not a giving up though. So id been trying to look out on a solution to repair the phone software.
My only hope to get the original file is to re-update the firmware. Sadly the pc suite don’t recognise the phone. I check the driver on the hardware manager. All driver is ok.

Walkman repairing method.
Now I only find one solution to revive the walkman player. It’s the walkman mod done on SE P1i. Remember the mod done by zeegy that enable the p1i to have the same walkman player as w960i does.
Follow the instruction and restart. Now the walkman can be use again. But more laggy than before. And still doesn’t repair the shortcut. U still cant move the shortcut out of the folder. i Haven try any registry mod yet but I'll post any info when id done my research.

SOUND MOD

There's two type of sound mod that i reccoment for those who wish to upgrade their w960 sound especially to increase sound on the earphone and speaker. this mod was tested and prove success mostly on all UIQ3.0 device.

Steps for installing the pack:

1) For users not having any sound mod installed (For Users having sound mod lite,
Uninstall it by replacing "1020867a.cre" [file] in 'C:\Private\10202be9\persists'
from the one given in the pack [Note that you have to replace of that particular
model only] and then follow the following steps)
a) Unlock access to system folders (with Caps Switch or python)
b) Copy file "mmmgmtserver.exe" from 'Z:\sys\bin' (ROM drive) to 'C:\sys\bin\'
c) Copy the file 'Z:\sys\bin\M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll' from your phone to computer
d) Run se_sound_patcher_full, select the file 'M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll' copied from
the phone and press "Install"
e) Copy the patched file 'M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll' back to your phone to the dir
'C:\sys\bin\' and extract contents (files) of the folder 'Monster Sound' to the
directory 'C:\private\10200B19\AATFiles\'
f) Restart your phone.

2) For users having Sound Mod Full already installed:

you must been wondering why suddenlly i repost this, its just like a record for my modding before this. so just keep note. making backup of ur c:\ and e:\ is very crueltial to ur restoring point in the future. even i don use this phone anymore. i still love UIQ. it teach me a lot of modding phones. hopefully this post help u a lot.
